Socialized housing in Granada Bacolod

A coalition of NGOs and people's organizations is raising an alarm over the environmental and other issues concerning City, touted as the "first well-planned socialized housing in Granada Bacolod city in the country." Despite its promised amenities, there are few takers. And those who have been relocated there are grumbling: no jobs, no school, no clean water even.

Pag-ibig targets 200,000 socialized housing

THE Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-Ibig Fund is targeting to develop at least 200,000 low-cost and socialized housing in Granada Bacolod units nationwide. Vice chairman of Housing, said the council is moving full-speed in setting up the Socialized Housing Finance Corporation as the lead agency to implement the government's housing program for the urban poor and low-income families. Who was in Granada Bacolod Thursday, said that Subdivision and Housing Developers Association Inc. and Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines pledged to develop 200,000 houses this year.
